There is help available with maintaining property for home owners who would like to continue to live independently and safely in their own homes.
Care and Repair
The role of Care and Repair is to promote independence by
providing advice and help to Knowsley residents who require
assistance. They do this by providing a wide range of cost
effective, efficient, client centred services which are flexible
and can be adapted to meet changing needs.
They are a 'not for profit' agency working with home owners,
private tenants and housing association tenants. If you want to
stay in your home, they can provide advice on repairing or adapting
your home.
Home Services
If you are aged 50 and over, Home Services are provided by
Age Concern Knowsley for older people living in the Borough of
Knowsley. The service offers support for people who need assistance
with chores about the house because they are no longer able to
do them themselves.
Trader Approved Scheme Knowsley
- T.A.S.K
T.A.S.K is the trader approved scheme for Knowsley. If you are
an older person, or consider yourself to be vulnerable (i.e. with a
physical or mental disability) and you live in Knowsley then the
Knowsley Pensioners Advocacy Service (KPAIS) hold a directory
of traders who have been vetted by Trading Standards and have
agreed to abide by a code of practice. T.A.S.K was set up with the
aim of eliminating the rogue traders who target older and
vulnerable people.
