Clearer patient information, built around the hospital experience

Know Your Care is a patient-facing digital information platform that helps people understand healthcare staff, common care journeys and unfamiliar medical language. Healthcare organisations can explore locally relevant information and a focused pilot approach.

Information and preparation support, not clinical decision support or a replacement for informed consent.

What Know Your Care offers

The platform aims to make information about the hospital experience easier to find and understand. Organisations can decide which areas are most relevant to the patients they support.

Staff and roles

Know Your Team

Descriptions of healthcare roles and uniforms help patients understand who may be involved in their care. Local role and uniform information can be configured for a participating hospital.

Care pathways

Know Your Journey

General explanations of selected hospital journeys help patients explore possible stages, staff and questions. Local content requires hospital review and approval before publication.

Health literacy

What You Might Hear

Plain-language explanations of common healthcare terms, supporting patients who encounter unfamiliar words during appointments and treatment discussions.

Local signposting

Know Your Hospital

Participating organisations can provide links to their own useful hospital information and selected services, alongside generic educational content.

Designed with accessibility and inclusion in mind

Patients have different information needs. The app supports multiple languages and includes Easy Read examples for selected journeys. Local teams should review translated and accessible material for the audiences they serve before relying on it in a pilot.

Potential uses for hospital teams

  • Signposting patients to general information before a hospital visit.
  • Helping people identify different staff roles and understand healthcare terminology.
  • Providing selected local service information alongside general patient education.
  • Exploring patient and staff feedback on clarity, accessibility and usefulness during a bounded pilot.

These are intended use cases, not claims of proven clinical effectiveness or measurable savings.

A focused way to explore a pilot

A pilot can be scoped to one hospital, service or journey, with defined local owners, review steps and an evaluation plan. The exact terms, scope and any costs are agreed with each organisation.

01 · Agree scope

Choose a starting point

Identify the service, patient group, selected roles or journey, languages and links to include.

02 · Check information

Review before release

Assign hospital and clinical reviewers to check relevant local details, language needs and the patient experience.

03 · Learn and decide

Evaluate the pilot

Review engagement, feedback and content issues before deciding whether to refine, expand or stop.

Know Your Care includes a configuration and review workflow in its administration Studio. A limited information pilot can be discussed without assuming integration into the hospital's clinical IT systems; any technical or governance requirements need to be assessed for the proposed deployment.

Discuss Know Your Care for your organisation
